Sneaky peek at the Glasgow Craft Mafia mascot, nearly done at last!

oh deer

I made this large stag a couple of weeks ago but never got round to posting it here! He's been shipped off to join other crafty things at the Manchester Craft and Design Centre to be part of the UK Craft Mafias exhibition in a couple of weeks, so if you happen to be in the Manchester area around that time go have a peek!

Mr Rabbit

Made another guilt free stuffed animal (everytime I go to write "guilt" I always type "quilt" first, this annoys me)

Don't know what animal to stuff next. I've done stags, pandas that look a little like a horse and rabbits. Mebbe a lion or a giraffe next.

Gigantic Owl

He's huge. Anyone who has seen the smaller owls in life will have a good idea of the proportion!
The funny thing is, when I was cutting out the fabric I thought "This isn't going to be as big as I want it" (haha). He is lovely though I if I do say so myself and I'm agonising over the decision to sell him or not. I'll take him along to the market in Mono on Sunday but mainly for show. I don't think anyone would re-home him.
I'm off to make smaller versions of him now!

Well, hello there Mr Fish

Well, hello there Mr Fish, you look mighty tastey!

And he was. We had him poached with some garlic and chilli butter :) He was less than 12 hours out the water, given to us by a fisherman friend that didn't want him. I thought the gutting and decapitation would make me spew a little but it never. The worst was the cleaning up afterwards. I felt a little bad because he was quite cute, kinda like watching "Babe" then tucking into a bacon sarnie.

almost forgot!

I will be at all of then except the Hillhead one on the 13th as I have to work at my horrible Job Of Doom. Yech.

made in the shade

Made in the Shade at the Lighthouse was a success! It's a great boost to the ego to hear nice things about what I've made as when I'm holed up making them I get convinced they're a bit crap and no one will love them. I was sad to see the fox cushions go as they've been part of my flat for a while now, it seems a bit empty without them. I'll just need to make more :)

Guilt free stags :

Dinosaurs and foxes, you can't get a better combination :

A much harrassed Martin who was roped into carrying all my stuff there:

Can't wait to do this all again!
I also managed to keep my spending to a minimum but I did buy a small handmade book from Bindy Boo, an initial brooch from Haberdash House and a bee-utey-full knitted collar from the Dandelion Project. There was so much other stuff I wanted to get that it made me die a little inside. In particular the scary cloud pin by the Curious Swift and just about everything from Ding Dong Designs.
